WISE - WESTERN INITIATIVE for SCHOLARLY EXCELLENCE

Students need to have the following information to be eligible

Students in Grade 11:

  • full time student status with a high school diploma in progress
  • completed a minimum of 22 credits
  • have not completed any Grade 12 U or M level credits, but have a minimum overall 85% average in Grades 10 & 11.
  • registered in sufficient courses to fulfill admission requirements of the University
  • met Western's requirements for English proficiency
  • been nominated by the Principal, or Guidance Counsellor of the secondary school

Students in Grade 12:

  • full time student status with a high school diploma in progress
  • completed a minimum of 22 credits
  • completed one or more Grade 12 U or M level credits and have a minimum overall 80% in grades 10, 11 and 12
  • registered in sufficient courses to fulfill admission requirements of the University
  • met Western's requirements for English proficiency
  • been nominated by the Principal, Guidance Counsellor or Teacher of the secondary school
* Students in their fifth year of high-school studies will be considered for the WISE Program. However, spaces are limited, and preference will be given to students registered in grades 11 and 12.

Thank you for submitting your application to the WISE program. Your application can no longer be edited. We will begin assessing your application as soon as your highschool guidance office faxes your final transcript to fax number 519-850-2381. A mandatory orientation will be held on July 26 or July 27 from 1-4. If you are accepted into the program, you will be required to attend one of these orientation sessions.
